Winter Market Hall Wedding | Britney + Corey

married couple at market hall

Britney and Corey’s Market Hall Wedding was classic, timeless, organic, and perfect for Winter. Although their original date had to change due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Britney and Corey were able to host their family and friends on a beautiful December day at Historic Market Hall. Our first meeting with Britney and Corey was via phone since they currently lived in Texas and were planning from out of state! Over the course of that first phone call, we knew that we wanted to bring their winter-filled, forest-like design plan to life! We were hired as their full service wedding planners and could not wait to get started!

Their one year planning process soon turned to two years of planning since COVID decided to shift everyone’s plans. Ninety-nine percent of our planning was done long-distance and across state lines, however, these two made it so easy to plan and we quickly became fast friends. Britney is a nurse that worked throughout the pandemic (bless her!) and we got the chance to see Corey’s ample sword collection and learn about his love of yellow cake with chocolate icing. They both love their sweet doggies and we were able to see their love for each other grow over the time we spent together planning. They are both playful and sweet with each other and that radiates throughout their wedding photos. Audrey with Rose Trail Images really captured their emotions perfectly!

They fully trusted us as planners and we were able book great vendors and turn Park View at Market Hall into their dream wedding space! Park View at Market Hall is an industrial, historic venue in the heart of downtown Raleigh. You could not ask for a more beautiful venue that is surrounded by cobblestone streets, market lights, and an authentic, downtown feeling. The venue also offers onsite, full service catering and bar, beautiful getting ready suites, china, glassware, tables, and chairs.

Britney and Corey wanted to create a welcoming and warm atmosphere for their guests with good food and good times and they did just that! With a romantic, winter-y color palette of deep greens and whites, the overall vibe was very organic and timeless. Wood and gold elements accentuated the floral centerpieces and brought in more of those organic elements. Their pups, Winston and Franklin, also made an appearance on their adorable koozie favors. We also incorporated bees into their design to honor the Berman family. A cute bee pin was added to Britney’s bouquet and a bee tie pin was added to Corey’s look. Other touches, like a jenga guestbook and scrabble piece decor, really brought “Britney and Corey” into their wedding.

As the wedding day began to come together at Market Hall, the excitement began to take hold! Britney and Corey were able to do a first look before the sunset, the weather remained cloudy but the rain held off, and cute wedding gifts were exchanged (peep the Britney Spears sweatshirt)! The ceremony went off with laughs and a personalized ceremony from our officiant, Kevin Holland. Photos were finished up during cocktail hour and then Britney and Corey held a private moment together in the getting ready suite to eat dinner together. It is so nice to remember to take a moment with your new spouse and enjoy it together! After that, our reception began! We enjoyed a first dance, a delicious dinner, cake cutting, and the shoe game, which is such a fun way to interact with guests and get them laughing. DJ Willis then kicked off the dance floor and we ended the evening with sparklers and a getaway rickshaw!

Our favorite part of this wedding was getting to celebrate two of our favorite people after seeing them have to go through the process of being engaged during a global pandemic. They absolutely supported each other through it and were then able to celebrate with their friends and family. The personal touches included in their design were also some of my favorite to date! The personalized koozies, the bee charms, and the fun guestbook were some of my favorite elements. A global pandemic could not stop this couple! We’re so thrilled to be on the Market Hall’s preferred vendor list so we can continue to plan and design in this space!
