Whimsical and Intimate Heights House Wedding | Alexis + Zac

couple outside Heights House in Raleigh, NC

Alexis & Zac’s Heights House Wedding in Downtown Raleigh was intimate and whimsical and left us smiling throughout the entire evening. They hosted a mico-wedding with most of their guests staying the entire weekend with them at Heights House. They originally planned to elope but were mesmerized by the modern touches in the historic hotel. Heights House was the perfect backdrop for their sweet and personalized wedding weekend with their closest family and friends.

Alexis & Zac met back in 2020 via Tinder and had their first date at Hairless Haire Brewery in Dayton, Ohio. After bonding over healthcare, playing Pokemon Go, and having picnic dates they moved into their first apartment together and began adopting their kitties! They relocated to Raleigh, NC in 2023 and were then engaged by 2024.

The couple hired us as their Event Management team, with us coming into the planning process three months prior to wedding day to coordinate with vendors, manage all wedding day logistics, and support with those final details, such as floor plans and timelines, leading up to wedding day. Alexis and Zac’s love was evident from their first meeting and we knew it would be a joy to be a part of their special day.

Alexis & Zac were purposeful with every decision, making sure to add personalized touches in every aspect of their day. Alexis’s personality can be seen in their table design and tablescapes, with the vintage thrifted china, flatware,  and colorful, whimsical floral arrangements. Zac’s personality is shown through his maroon suit, floral tie, and the energetic dance floor vibes he facilitated. As an extra personal touch, they thrifted colorful glassware as a favor for their guests to use throughout the evening and then take home. They even made sure to include their two kitties with their dancing shoes and stamps on their recipe guestbook. Their wedding day was a true reflection of them as individuals and a couple with no detail being forgotten.

Their ceremony was set in front of the stunning Heights House Hotel, allowing it to have its shining moment. Their ceremony was short and sweet with their best friend officiating, leaning into even more personal touches. Guests were treated to glasses of champagne and delicious appetizers from Beau Catering following the ceremony. The intimate guest count allowed Alexis & Zac to spend quality time with each of their guests, soaking in every moment of fellowship.

Originally, Alexis and Zac had hoped to host their reception dinner on the lawn, but rain had other plans for us. We needed to make the difficult decision to pivot to our indoor rain plan. Our strong and capable vendor team supported this change, creating a romantic modern atmosphere with historic charm in Heights House’s dining room. Vendors play a critical role in a smooth wedding experience, especially when unforeseen circumstances come into play, like a rain storm out of the blue.

After dinner, Alexis & Zac held their special dances under the rotunda with all their loved ones surrounding them. Their first dance made nearly every guest cry, followed by beautiful parent dances. To get the party going, they kicked off their shoes and played “the shoe game”. Their DJ asked questions and they answered which one it applied to each other. Guests were laughing and enjoying learning even more about this amazing couple.

The dance floor kicked off with the lights going down, up-lighting vibing, and Pink Pony Club blasting. Alexis & Zac danced the night away with their loved ones. We loved being a part of this beautiful day filled with touches that reflected this amazing couple.
